Frequently asked questions

Laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that uses concentrated laser beams to remove unwanted hair by targeting the hair follicles.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) can slow down hair growth by targeting pigment in the hair, while laser hair removal can damage the hair follicle more effectively, leading to a more significant and longer lasting result.

Most individuals require multiple sessions (usually 8) spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal and long-lasting results.

Advancements in technology have made laser hair removal effective for a variety of skin tones, but results can vary. This will be discussed in detail at your consultation.

A cooling head on our laser helps enhance comfort during the laser session by cooling the skins surface. This added comfort contributes to a more positive experience for the person undergoing the procedure.

Temporary side effects may include redness, slight swelling, or slight discomfort, but these usually subside within a few days.

The duration depends on the treatment area. Smaller areas like the upper lip may take 5 minutes, while larger areas like full legs can take around half an hour.

Yes, shaving is usually permitted between sessions, but other hair removal methods like waxing and plucking should be avoided.

Generally, there’s minimal downtime. You can resume your regular activities immediately, but sun exposure and strenuous exercise should be limited for a short period.

Results are often long-lasting, with many experiencing significant hair reduction. Maintenance sessions may be needed over time for sustained effects.

Before having laser it is essential that any excess hair above the follicle is removed. If the hair has not been shaven correctly the treatment may not be as effective and the heat of the laser will be attracted to the wrong part of the hair.

No you cannot. The laser will disrupt the pigment, any tattoos will be covered up prior to your session.

Laser cannot effectively remove grey hairs, the hair follicle needs to be dark. Same applies to light blonde hair and light red hair.

There could be a number of factors that could affect this from current medication to PCOS. Everything will be discussed at your consultation but if anyone needs to have more than 8 sessions, they will qualify for a top up session at a reduced rate.

Most people experience hair removal which lasts from several months up to several years. Laser hair removal doesn’t guarantee permanent hair removal. Although when hair regrows, it’s usually considerably finer and lighter in colour. Maintenance sessions are recommended for long lasing hair reduction

We made the decision to do this because everyone will react differently.  The minimum sessions required is 8, so any extra sessions that may be required, any potential further packages can be tailored to that unique persons needs.

After your course, your hair will be reduced by 85-100% and then top ups may be required annually to keep on top of any small fine hairs which may come back if you wish to do this. Top up sessions after your 8th treatment are at a reduced rate per session.

No Laser on the market will completely remove 100% of hair permanently. Some people may experience this but it is not a given.
